Dynamic Balance Physiotherapy & Vestibular Rehab Clinic is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards — in clinic and online.
Our Commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which also supports our obligations under the Accessible British Columbia Act as it comes into force. Our website was designed with accessibility built in rather than added later.
Measures We Have Taken
- Semantic HTML structure (proper headings, landmarks, lists) throughout
- “Skip to main content” link for keyboard and screen-reader users
- Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
- Touch targets sized at least 44×44 px per WCAG and Apple HIG guidance
- Text alternatives (alt text) for meaningful images; decorative images hidden from assistive technology
- Colour contrast checked against 4.5:1 minimums for body text
- Fluid typography that scales without breaking layout; support for browser zoom to 200%
- Respect for
prefers-reduced-motion: animations, including pulsing markers on the body map, are disabled when your device requests reduced motion - Keyboard operability for menus, FAQ accordions, testimonial slider and chat widget
- Form fields with associated labels and clear error states
Physical Accessibility At Our Clinic
Our Surrey clinic offers ground-floor access with a step-free entrance, free on-site parking close to the door, and accessible washroom facilities. Tell us about any accommodation needs when booking — we will prepare accordingly.
Conformance Status & Known Limitations
The website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA, meaning most content meets the standard but some third-party components do not fully:
- The embedded Jane App booking system is operated by a third party; we pass on any accessibility feedback to them
- Some imported blog articles may contain legacy formatting from our old site
